MINDA PIMPINAN: RENDEZVOUS OF BELIEVERS

In the name of Allah the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate
Peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad PBUH
Allah SWT said:
“Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause, positioned in rows, as if they were a building, firm and compact.” (as-Saff 61:4)

Having the opportunity to rendezvous, meaning to present ourselves or to gather among the believers is a hidden blessing you couldn’t thank Him enough. And it is of most important to ensure we always engage with these firm believers. What comes to our mind is, what do we get from engaging ourselves with a community who have firm believe in Allah SWT?

First and foremost, being engaged with a congregation, we will be equipped with constant ‘tarbiah’.
The word ‘tarbiah’ refers to the systematic development and training of Muslims. It is a continuous and comprehensive process of developing all aspects of the Muslim character or personality, i.e. spiritual, intellectual, moral, social, and physical aspects. This process aims to put Muslims on the path of constant self-purification, self-correction and self-development (Tasfiyah), and instill in them the passion for righteousness.

“I leave you two things, you will not go astray as long as you hold both of them, the Book of Allah (al-Qur’an) and my Sunnah.”

‘Tarbiah’ is an approach which traces its origins to the Quran and to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, as he invested efforts in the education or training of his companions. As a result of his exertions, he not only left a great message, the message of Islam, but a great generation that carried and spread the message all over the globe – bringing humanity from darkness into His Light.

The focus of ‘tarbiah’ is to groom participants who are distinguished, strive for excellence, have a sense of mission, are self-motivated, conduct a balanced life, live in peace with themselves and their environment, be equipped with the necessary knowledge, understanding, and skills to make a difference in the society by taking an active role – both individually and collectively – in the reform process that seeks to make the betterment of our community, our country, and the entire world.

Futhermore, being in a community help us to define the true meaning of brotherhood or in other word ‘ukhuwah’.
From Anas bin Malik the following, where the Prophet Muhammad PBUH said,
“One of you does not believe (with perfect faith) until he loves his brother as he loves himself.” (Narrated by Bukhari No.13 and Muslim No.45)

Sometimes you will feel like nobody was there, feeling forgotten in the middle of nowhere, like you could fall, and no one would hear. Well, you can let all those feelings wash away because when you don’t feel strong enough to stand you can reach out your hand and by the name of brotherhood someone will coming running to you and take you home. Even when the dark comes crashing through when you need a friend to carry you and when you’re broken on the ground, you will be found as you have a deep spirit of brotherhood among the Muslim community which capable of helping you to remember Allah SWT and consequently generate success and excellence together. Therefore, the brotherhood of Islam is a very important element in uniting the community to ensure harmony.

Last but not least, we will be able to fulfill the purpose of us being created by Allah which is to preach people to Allah SWT (‘dakwah’).
“You are the best among His creation, enjoining good deeds, and preventing the evil, and believing in Allah. If the People of the Book were believers, it would have been better for them, among them are believers, and most of them are rebellious.” (Ali Imran 3:110)

In conlusion, engaging ourselves with a community who have strong believe in Allah, a community who made al-Quran and Sunnah as guidance in every action taken is utmost important things to do which will benefit us here and hereafter.
“And the life of this world is but a play and a joke. And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who are cautious. Do you not understand?” (al-An’am 6:32)
